Welcome to the Friends of Bowne blog
March 10, 2011 § Leave a comment
The Friends of Bowne blog is a place to share information and show support for Bowne & Co Stationers, the beloved 19th-century-style print shop that was recently closed by its parent institution, the Seaport Museum NY. This blog is a way to keep the idea of the shop open, even as its doors are closed, because we believe places like Bowne help make New York City a richer place.
But don’t take our word for it. We hope you’ll comment with your own memories and impressions of Bowne. Tell us why you think it’s important that Bowne, and places like it, survive. Explore the blog, read the articles, and share your stories. More than ever, Bowne needs us to publish our thoughts.

In the meantime, however, we felt there needed to be some kind of public “place” for concerned people to rally around, before much more time passes. We hope you’ll agree and feel welcome.
